Hello,
I am using a 5" 800x480 LCD with captouch, Model FT811CB from Haoyu. Previously I used their 4.3" 480x272 with ResTouch LCD. I find the FT811CB 5" LCD brightness is much lesser.
Is there any software control to increase the brightness?
Or is there any other way of increasing the brightness?

Better response on post RE: Brightness of FT811CB 5" with CapTouch from HaoyuSorry, such modification no it possible, this backlight comes since the factory with only 200 cd/m2, and is not posible increase the luminance by software.

The only way it is open the screen and remove it the backlight, but this modification can be a disaster to the screen integrity.

Riverdi has resistive screens (FT812, 5") with 480-600 cd/m2 or cap-screens (FT813, 5") with 510 cd/m2, but they are more expensive than the HotMCU screens

The command for maximum brightness you test this (on setup for example);
  GD.wr(REG_PWM_DUTY, 128);
another code test for brightness;
  for (int k = 128; k > 3; k--) {

Is there any way to get larger than 31 fonts? I want to show almost double the size of 31. Moreover, what about italics and bolds?

Disadvantage: we lost a one image handle for each font
